Elizabeth reached out to me a few months back to capture her and Austin's engagement pictures. I was thrilled and got to planning. She wanted a fun earthy and fun location but it had to be close to the Dallas area. I just couldn't resist shooting at White Rock Lake again. It was a hot July Tuesday, and even though we are all staring at the forecast for rain, we ended up with a beautiful day to for engagement pictures.
How did they met?
We joined martial arts around the same time unknowingly. I was 11 and he was 13 years old. We spent the first couple of months practicing and not noticing one another. Unfortunately when we learned about one another Austin had the gall to tell me how to practice properly and me being stubborn I couldn’t take it. The next Five years of our lives I spent hating him and he ignored me. Then we were stuck alone in a movie theater lobby for an event. He started flirting with me which was through annoying me. A friend of mine invited me to a movie and Austin invited himself along. We made a tradition of this until I turned 16 which he then asked me out. Our first date was 10/15/2016 at downtown McKinney we ate at Mellow Mushroom, got ice cream, and then in front of a mom and pops store he asked me to be his girlfriend.
How did he propose?
Austin told every one that, except for me. he was going to propose on our anniversary, but he did it early in the day right after my birthday 8/23/2020. Which was the day after my 20th birthday. It being my 20th birthday is important because on his 20th I told him that the 20th birthday is not anything important or a big deal. He in-turn told me that I would regret saying that, my 20th would be the biggest deal. He fulfilled that promise to me and made that birthday one that cannot be topped. He proposed at the same spot he asked me to be his girlfriend, so when he proposed he recreated our first date.
Describe your favorite date.
Our favorite date was of course the first one. We went to dinner where we talked for over an hour and then walked around downtown talking more. We stopped at an ice cream store and we treated ourselves. After that we did a bit more walking and ended up on a bench out in front of mom and pops. We talked more there and then he asked me to be his girlfriend I which I responded with "we will see".
