Who knew orange was a P E R F E C T summer wedding color!

I had a blast capturing Mekenna and Matthew's summer wedding. It was a hot summer day, but the weather was perfect and the breeze came through every now and then. The wedding was decorated in beautiful orange and green colors all over. And when it is styled against a stunning white venue, who wouldn't be in amazement of how stunning it looked.

I got a chance to get the back story from Mekenna on her relationship and how did she come up with the amazing theme of her summer wedding.

J L Glamour: So Mekenna, how did you and Matthew met?

Mekenna: We met at our apartment building at college! We lived in the buildings next to each other and my roommate worked to get us together after I saw him one day and thought he was cute.

J L: Aww, that is so adorable. How did Matthew propose?

M:He actually completely surprised me, which was no small feat. After DMing my dad on Instagram to exchange numbers in order to call and ask permission, he put together his plan on proposing on the beach. Every year my family spends some time at Fort Walton Beach in Florida for Thanksgiving. During this trip, my family usually takes family pictures for our Christmas card and we decided this year to go at the end of the week really early in the morning. Towards the end of the session, I saw Matt and his family round the corner. At that point, my mom had to somewhat push me forward because I was in shock, but ultimately it all worked out and it was the best surprise.

J L : Okay, that is seriously the best proposal story I have ever heard. Now I have to know, how did you come up with style for your wedding?

M:I grew up in Dallas while Matt grew up in Orlando. We decided to get married in Texas but I still wanted Matt to feel like his upbringing was a part of the wedding so we decided to incorporate both the color orange and the fruit to give a little tribute to his home state. Additionally, my mom was my wedding florist and I have learned to love flowers and all the decorations that came with it, so she also inspired me to let her creative juices flow and create a greenhouse effect in our very white venue.

J L: It came together perfectly, your mom is so amazing, I just love it! Now, last questions, what is some advice you can give to the next couple that just got engaged?

M:The best advice we can give is to enjoy your engagement! It is really fun to get wrapped up in all of the wedding planning and getting excited to finally be married, but we still learned so much about each other throughout our engagement. It is the only time in your life your relationship will be where it is right now and when it comes down to it, a wedding is only one day and a marriage is a lifetime. So make sure you enjoy the process and getting to know each other even more.

J L: Oh I love that! Thank you so much for talking with me, and CONGRATULATIONS again to you and Matthew!
